Kitty Kapers

Indoors Or Outdoors?

Personally I firmly believe that cats should live strictly indoors. There are too many dangers outside for them.  Cars, other animals & diseases!

Keep your cat healthy and safe - indoors!

Indoor cat tip:

I have found that if I keep my cat indoors, and NEVER let them outside unless in a carrier, they are somewhat afraid of what is out there and tend NOT to try to sneak out the door.  I find once the step out and realize its fun & not scary, then they always seem to want to sneak out the door.

So keep the kitties in!

The Importance Of Spaying & Neutering

Should I de-claw?

Questions to ask yourself...

1. Will your cats be strictly indoors?

2. Are you cats clawing your carpets & furniture?

3. Do you have small children?

If you can answer yes to any of these and your cats are strictly INDOOR cats, then declawing your cat may be the answer!

I've owned many cats & had them declawed at different ages and they all did fine!

Don't be afraid... ask your vet for more information!

Cat Grooming

Yes, some cats do need professional grooming! If you think your cat will be one that does, I recommend starting young. Get them used to a groomer, used to the carrier and car ride. Water? Yes they can get used to that too!!

Always remember though, cats need special attention and special care.  There are many shampoos that are not safe for cats - READ the label!

A good groomer will know when a cat has had too much. If your groomer calls and says, "Fluffy has had enough! You need to come get her!"  Then I suggest you do just that.  There is no need to make grooming stressful and unbearable. I'd rather see a cat get groomed in more than one session if necessary rather than pushing them until they are stressed.
